The District of Columbia Citywide “Truck Touch” will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 8 am to 1 pm at RFK Stadium, Lot 8. The event will feature a variety of free activities for kids and adults. A host of DC government agencies will present and demonstrate nearly 30 vehicles used to clean and repair streets, change traffic lights, collect refuse, clear snow, provide emergency services, administer mobile health care, and more. Coordinated annually by the DC Department of Public Works, kids are encouraged to climb into trucks and adults invited to test drive various equipment. The DC Department of Parks and Recreation will also provide a bevy of activities for kids and adults including, tennis, basketball and fitness activities. Free boxed lunches will be provided to kids up to age 18 as part of the DC Free Summer Meals Program. WHAT: 12th Annual Citywide Truck Touch Event WHEN: Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 8:00 am-1:00 pm WHERE: RFK Stadium, Lot 8 (2400 East Capitol Street, SE – vehicles can enter off of Independence Avenue, SE and park in Lot 8a) The following message is being shared as an official public notice on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia: Recently, the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) announced that for the first time OAG has been appointed by a federal court to represent the views of the community in an adult criminal matter that it is not prosecuting. Specifically, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has asked OAG to gather and represent the views of the District of Columbia community on whether the court should reduce Rayful Edmond’s sentence. Edmond was convicted in 1990 on felony drug distribution charges and is serving a life sentence without parole.
